Lee Swerdlin Promoted to President and COO

ATLANTA / BOSTON, January 30, 2012 – Swerdlin & Company, the seventh largest Atlanta-based actuarial and employee benefits firm, today announces Lee Swerdlin’s promotion to president and chief operating officer. Dorn Swerdlin will continue his active role as CEO of the company as his son, Lee, assumes this new position. Founded in 1980, Swerdlin & Company today has over 70 employees and focuses on total employee benefits consulting, including administration, recordkeeping, and actuarial services for retirement and health plans, as well as cafeteria plan administration. The firm represents more than 800 clients from all industries in 37 states, from major employers with thousands of employees to smaller, closely held companies.

“The formal appointment of Lee to president and COO is a natural continuation of our strategic plan for firm growth and the creation of opportunity for all of our employees. As a second generation family member, we are proud that he will serve as the firm’s head of day-to-day operations and we look forward to continued success under his leadership,” said CEO Dorn Swerdlin.

Lee Swerdlin joined Swerdlin & Company in 1998 as an entry-level benefits assistant, working closest with the 401(k) and ESOP administration teams. Over the years, he has become heavily involved in new business development as well as clients relations. In April 2011, he led the company’s acquisition of the Boston-based firm, Penret Services, Inc., and works in the Holliston, Mass. office on a regular basis. Swerdlin is a member of the Southern Employee Benefits Conference, the ESOP Association, and currently serves as President of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) for the 2012-2013 term.

“It is a great honor to assume daily responsibility for the company my parents built from the ground up starting more than 30 years ago. The most rewarding aspect of this new role will be charting our new course knowing that we have an incredible team of dynamic individuals who are excited about our future expansion,” said Lee Swerdlin.
